About the Author
Floyd Oliver was born in 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. He was educated at the University of Maryland and George Mason University.
He edited Golden Hoofprints Thoroughbred Newsletter and Sales Projections from 1978 to 1990. The author of many articles on Thoroughbred Breeding appearing in The Blood-Horse, Florida Horse and the Horseman’s Journal, Floyd also developed and presented the seminar “Breeding to Win” in Lexington, Kentucky in the 1980’s.
He has been Farm Manager and adviser to Carl M. Freeman of Tusculum Farm, Unity, Maryland (breeder of Miss Alleged); Consultant to Leonard C. Green of Holmdel, New Jersey, purchased the dam of November Snow and Scatmandu as agent for Leonard Green, Farm Manager and advisor to Alan S. Kline of Boyds, Maryland, breeder of numerous winners.
More recently, Floyd Oliver contributed the biographical essays on Black Toney, Blue Larkspur, Nearco, Princequillo and Round Table for the best- selling “Great Thoroughbred Sires of the World”.
